Dear Parents,

This week, we have the opportunity to explore the teachings of The Story of Ruth (Ruth).

During a time of famine, Ruth stayed faithful to her mother-in-law Naomi and followed her to Bethlehem. Ruth worked hard in the fields to provide for them both, and God led her to Boaz—a kind man and relative of Naomi. Boaz acted as a family redeemer, providing and caring for Ruth. They were married and became the great-grandparents of King David. Ruth’s story reminds us of God’s faithful care and how Jesus is our Redeemer who saves us and provides for our greatest need.

This message will inspire your child to grow in the love and light of Jesus. Reinforce the lesson at home by discussing the following points with your child:

  • God Cares for Us in Hard Times: God helped Ruth and Naomi when they had no one. How has God shown care for your family?
  • Faithfulness Pleases God: Ruth was loyal to Naomi and trusted God. How can we be faithful and kind to others too?
  • Jesus Is Our Redeemer: Boaz helped Ruth when she needed hope. How does Jesus rescue us and give us new life?

You might consider praying with your child, thanking God for His love and asking Him to help you trust Jesus, our Redeemer.

Grace and blessings in Christ.
