Dear Parents,
This week, we’ll learn about “Peter Preached in Jerusalem” (Acts 2). Sometimes it is hard to change people’s mind, even when we have a very convincing argument. Many times it’s not that we don’t have great points, but that people’s hearts or minds fail to see the truth. In our story, we will learn how Peter preached the gospel, and how the power of the Holy Spirit revealed the people’s sin and helped them repent.
Review the gospel and encourage your child to speak with you if they have questions. Instruct them to open their Bibles to Romans 10:14. Lead them in reading the passage aloud together. Tell your child that the passage reminds us of the eternal importance of sharing the gospel with those who have not heard as well as anyone we know. Remind your child that like Peter, we can faithfully share Jesus with others, trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit to change hearts. Then pray, praising God for the Spirit’s power at work in us as we share Jesus with others.
