Dear Parents,
This week, we have the opportunity to explore the teachings of “Gideon Led Israel” (Judges 6-7).
When the Israelites disobeyed God, He allowed the Midianites to take over. The people cried out for help, and God chose Gideon to lead them—even though Gideon felt weak and unsure. God promised to be with him and confirmed His plan through signs. Before battle, God reduced Gideon’s army from thousands to only 300 men to show that victory came through His power, not theirs. God gave them the victory, just as He promised. In the same way, only Jesus can save us from sin.
This message will inspire your child to grow in the love and light of Jesus. Reinforce the lesson at home by discussing the following points with your child:
- God Can Use Anyone: Gideon felt small and weak, but God chose him. How can we trust that God can use us too?
- God is the Source of Victory: God made the army small to show His power. Why is it important to give God credit for our successes?
- Jesus Saves Us: Gideon couldn’t win without God’s help, and we can’t save ourselves. How does Jesus save us from sin?
You might consider praying with your child, thanking God for His strength and asking Him to help you trust in His power, not your own.
Grace and blessings in Christ.
