Dear Parents,
This week, we have the opportunity to explore the teachings of “The People Complained” (Numbers 16; 20-21).
The Israelites often grumbled against God during their wilderness journey. When Korah led a rebellion, God reaffirmed Moses as His chosen leader. When the people complained about water, God provided it through a rock. Later, their impatience led to a plague of poisonous snakes. God instructed Moses to make a bronze snake, and anyone who looked at it was healed. This story reminds us that while our sin deserves death, we are saved when we look to Jesus with faith.
This message will inspire your child to grow in the love and light of Jesus. Reinforce the lesson at home by discussing the following points with your child:
- Trusting God in Hard Times: The Israelites complained instead of trusting God. How can we show trust in God when life is hard?
- God’s Provision: God gave water from a rock and healing through the bronze snake. How does God provide for us today?
- Looking to Jesus: The Israelites were saved by looking at the bronze snake. How does looking to Jesus save us from sin?
You might consider praying with your child, asking God for a trusting heart and thanking Him for His provision and salvation through Jesus.
Grace and blessings in Christ.
