Dear Parents,
This week, we’ll learn about “Moses Confronted Pharoah”
(Exodus 5-12). Moses and Aaron obeyed God and repeatedly asked Pharaoh to let the Israelites go, but Pharaoh’s heart was hardened. God sent ten plagues to show His power and to rescue His people from slavery. Before the final plague, God instructed the Israelites to mark their doorframes with the blood of a lamb. This saved their firstborn from death. Pharaoh finally allowed the Israelites to leave Egypt. God’s rescue of His people points to Jesus, whose sacrifice saves us from sin and gives us eternal life.
I hope this message will inspire your child to grow in the love and light of Jesus. To help reinforce the lesson at home, please discuss the following points with your child:
- God’s Power Over Pharaoh: Talk about how God used the ten plagues to show His power and rescue His people.
- The Passover Lamb: Explain how the lamb’s blood saved the Israelites and how Jesus is our Passover Lamb.
- Trusting God’s Plan: Share how the Israelites trusted God’s instructions, and we can trust Him to guide and protect us.
Pray with your child, thanking God for His power to save and for Jesus’ sacrifice to rescue us from sin.
