Dear Parents,
This week, we’ll learn about “The Great Flood” (Genesis 6–9). As Adam and Eve’s descendants grew, so did their sin, which made God sad. However, Noah was righteous, and God chose to save him and his family. God instructed Noah to build an ark, warning of a flood that would cover the earth. Noah obeyed, bringing animals and his family aboard. After 40 days of rain, the floodwaters receded, and God promised never to flood the earth again, placing a rainbow as a sign of His covenant. This story points to Jesus, who rescues us from sin.
I hope this message will inspire your child to grow in the love and light of Jesus. To help reinforce the lesson at home, please discuss the following points with your child:
- Noah’s Obedience: Explain how Noah followed God’s instructions, trusting Him to save his family from the flood.
- God’s Promise: Talk about the rainbow as a sign of God’s promise to never flood the earth again, showing His faithfulness.
- Jesus Rescues Us: Help your child understand how Noah’s story points to Jesus, who rescues us from sin and gives us new life.
Pray with your child, thanking God for His promises and for sending Jesus to save us from sin.
Grace and blessings in Christ,
Danny Sungshin Park
