Dear Parents,
This week, we’ll learn about “Sin Entered the World” (Genesis 2–3). God placed Adam in the garden of Eden, commanding him not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But the serpent deceived Eve, and both she and Adam disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit. As a result, sin entered the world, bringing consequences like pain, hardship, and death. Despite their disobedience, God showed mercy, promising that one of Eve’s descendants would defeat the serpent. This promise points to Jesus, who came to rescue us from sin.
I hope this message will inspire your child to grow in the love and light of Jesus. To help reinforce the lesson at home, please discuss the following points with your child:
- The First Sin: Talk about how Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit and the consequences that followed.
- Sin and Separation: Explain how sin separates us from God but also how God provided hope through His promise.
- Jesus, Our Savior: Discuss how Jesus came to rescue us from sin and bring us back into a right relationship with God.
Pray with your child, asking for forgiveness and thanking God for sending Jesus to save us from sin.
Grace and blessings in Christ,
Danny Sungshin Park
