Dear Parents,
This week, we’ll learn about “Paul Was Sent to Rome” (Acts 24-26). After narrowly escaping death in Jerusalem, Paul was taken to Caesarea by Roman soldiers for safety. Although still a prisoner, Paul defended his faith before Roman leaders Felix and Festus. Felix often met with Paul but kept him imprisoned for two years. Festus, the new governor, kept Paul in Caesarea despite Jewish plots against him. Paul eventually appealed to Caesar, leading to meetings with King Agrippa and Queen Bernice, where he shared his testimony. Through all this, Paul remained committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus.
I hope this message will inspire your child to grow in the love and light of Jesus. To help reinforce the lesson at home, please discuss the following points with your child:
- Paul’s Courage: Discuss how Paul showed courage by sharing his faith with leaders, even while imprisoned. Talk about times when your child has shown courage.
- God’s Plan: Emphasize how God used Paul’s trials to spread the gospel to important leaders. Reflect on how God can use difficult situations for good.
- Sharing the Gospel: Highlight Paul’s dedication to telling others about Jesus, no matter the cost. Encourage your child to think about ways they can share their faith.
Pray with your child, praising God that Jesus seeks out the lost and uses us to share the good news.
Grace and blessings in Christ,
Danny Sungshin Park
