Dear Parents,
I’d love for you to use this newsletter to review this week’s Bible story with your child at home.
This week, we’ll learn about “The Church Spread Out” (Acts 8). We are going to hear about how the church spread out. All people need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. Philip was obedient to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading so that the Ethiopian man could understand God’s Word and hear the gospel. We are also called to go and share the gospel. As we go, God will lead us to people who need to hear the good news so they can believe in Jesus and be saved from their sins.
Review the gospel and encourage your child to speak with you if they have questions. Remind your child that the Lord led Philip directly to the Ethiopian man so that he could share the good news about Jesus. Tell your child that after hearing the gospel, the Ethiopian man wanted to follow Jesus and be baptized. Discuss how we can have this response when we hear the good news. Remind your child that just as the Holy Spirit led Philip to help the Ethiopian official understand the good news about Jesus, every believer is called to share how Jesus rescues sinners. Then pray, asking God to help us obey the Holy Spirit as He leads us to share the gospel.
