Dear Parents,
Today, we’ll learn about “Jesus Was Put on Trial” (Matthew 26–27; Mark 14–15; Luke 22–23; John 18). In our Bible story, while Jesus was put on trial, Jesus remained silent. People did not see and believe that He is the Messiah. When He was asked if He was the Son of God, He responded. He first said that if He told the religious leaders the truth, they would not believe Him. Then He confirmed that He is the Son of God.
Review the gospel and encourage your child to speak with you if they have questions. Help your child understand that Jesus’ death would not be the end. Remind your child that Jesus died for our sin and rose again. Jesus’ death and resurrection defeated sin and death. Tell your child that Jesus’ work is done and that anyone who trusts in Him will live with Him forever. Then pray, thanking God for His great love for us and for providing a way for us to be saved.
