Saul entered a cave to rest\u2014unaware that David and his men were hiding there. David crept up and quietly cut off a corner of Saul\u2019s robe, but he chose not to harm him. David showed mercy because Saul was the Lord\u2019s anointed king. David trusted God to bring justice and rescue him. This story reminds us of Jesus, who showed great mercy by forgiving sinners, even while He was being harmed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This message will inspire your child to grow in the love and light of Jesus. Reinforce the lesson at home by discussing the following points with your child:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mercy Over Revenge<\/strong>: David didn\u2019t hurt Saul even when he had the chance. How can we show mercy to others, even when we\u2019re hurt?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Trusting God for Justice<\/strong>: David trusted God to decide what was right. How can we trust God when things feel unfair?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jesus Shows Us Perfect Mercy<\/strong>: David showed Saul mercy, and Jesus shows mercy to us.
