February 18, 2024, VAIBC Children’s Cell Newsletter
Dear Parents,
I’d love for you to use this newsletter to review this week’s Bible story with your child at home.
This week, we’ll learn about “The Apostles Were Arrested” (Acts 5). The apostles were told by the Jewish leaders to be quiet and stop sharing the good news of Jesus. We will hear how the apostles persevered and kept sharing the good news even when they faced challenges.
Review the gospel and encourage your child to speak with you if they have questions. Remind your child that Jesus suffered in order to save us from our sins. Explain that even today there are believers all over the world who are being persecuted for their faith in Jesus. Read the names of some of the countries where believers are persecuted such as Pakistan, Iran, Russia, Kuwait, China, Somalia, North Korea, and Yemen. Ask your child to brainstorm some ways to pray for the believers in each of these countries. Tell your child that we can continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ, asking God to give them strength, comfort, and joy through His Spirit.
Then pray, asking God for perseverance to obey Him no matter what difficulties we may face.
Grace and blessings in Christ,
Danny Sungshin Park, Pastor of Children’s Cell
